Blood transfusion. Every donation is a valuable, life-saving gift and repeated donations are the key to making it a lasting protection.
In many countries, blood transfusion services face the challenge of making enough blood, ensuring its quality and safety. Lack of access to quality blood and blood products – especially in low- and middle-income countries – affects all patients, including those who require regular transfusions. One of WHO’s plans is to help low- and middle-income countries improve the availability and quality of human plasma, including promoting the use of plasma obtained from whole blood donations and enabling patients to receive life-saving plasma protein therapy.
What is the history of World Blood Donor Day?
World Blood Donor Day was recognized by four major international organizations in 2004, including the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the International Federation of Blood Donor Organizations (IFBDO ) and the International Society of Transfusion. Benefits of donating blood
Donating blood is not only about saving lives and helping people take steps towards better health. It’s also about you and the benefits you get, only through gift cards. Here are the health benefits of donating blood that you didn’t know you could be enjoying:
Health checks all the way!
Did you know that every time you go to donate blood, you are automatically registered for a health check? Well, it is important to check that the donor is healthy and able to donate blood. However, it does get free health checks from time to time, if you are a regular blood donor. It also helps identify any major health risks or possible blood infections.
Save our souls from cancer
Research has found that many cancer patients have higher levels of iron than others. Regular blood donation can monitor and improve the health level by a lot and it is only a matter of time before you get better health.
No more heart attacks
Too much iron in the blood can cause blood vessels to narrow immediately. These blockages lead to cardiovascular health problems and possible cardiac arrest. Therefore, a reduction in iron levels cannot be harmful. Go for it! Do yourself a favor and donate healthy blood for a healthier life.
A happy world makes happy
Just as pain and suffering can cause psychosomatic diseases like asthma, acts of kindness and selflessness bring joy and satisfaction, which in turn creates a positive state of mind. Peace and unity live in the hearts of volunteers who are committed to making the world a better place to live.
