Shubman Gill became the youngest cricketer to score 200 runs and the fastest 1000 runs

Shubman Gill caught the show on Wednesday as he helped India beat New Zealand with a brilliant 208 in the first ODI in Hyderabad. He became only the fifth Indian player to score a double in ODIs, and the youngest to achieve the feat.

Shubman Gill became the fastest Indian to complete 1,000 ODI runs on Wednesday as he reached the mark in 19 runs, overtaking Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan.

Biography of Shubman Gill

Born on September 8, 1999 in Punjab’s Fazilka district, Shubham Gill is India’s first and foremost cricketer. He studied in Mohali named Manav Mangal Smart school. His father sukvinder singh is a farmer by profession and also brings up cricket kids he is fond of cricket since his childhood and wanted to become a cricketer but due to bad circumstances stopped his dream of coaching .

Education of Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill attended Manav Mangal Smart School in Mohali, Punjab for his education. Gill’s father was the one who encouraged him and made him start playing this game. His father did not discourage him as he also wanted to pursue a career in sports but did not get enough support or job opportunities. So that Shubman Gill could train and play, his father Lakhwinder built a grass garden on his farm.

He challenges the village children to use his son’s ticket and pay them 100 rupees if they succeed. Lakhwinder Singh says he gave up farming in his village and moved to Mohali to make his son a professional cricketer. Gill was coached by his school for some time when his father enrolled him in the Punjab Cricket Association’s academy.

Shubman Gill lived in his village for many years. In the village, his father has a farm. As a child, Gill enjoyed playing cricket on the farm, where the farmers played it. Gill’s father aspired to play professional cricket. According to his father, Gill has been interested in farming since childhood.

Shubman Gill has a strong emotional connection with his farm and his community. Many of his ancestors were farmers.

International Carrier of Shubman Gill

Carrier U-19

His international debut for the U-19 cricket team came against England U-19 at the age of 17, where he scored two centuries in a row.
After impressing at the national and international level, he was selected and named the vice-captain of the Indian U19 team in December 2017 for the 2018 ICC U19 Cricket World Cup, where he was also named the Player of the Tournament. Shubman shined in the World Cup, scored 372 in five rounds and finished second in the standings.
After India’s performance in the tournament, the International Cricket Council (ICC) named Gill as the team’s rising star.
In the Group B match against Zimbabwe, Gill scored an unbeaten 99 off 59 balls as India beat Zimbabwe by 70 runs. The fourth innings saw him hit 86 out of 94 as India beat Bangladesh by 113 runs.
He scored a century in the semi-final against rivals Pakistan by scoring an unbeaten 102 off 94 balls. India won by 203 with Gill winning the man of the match.
In the final against Australia, he scored 31 runs from 30 balls, helping India to eight wins and win the U19 World Cup for the fourth time.

ODI Carrer

In January 2019, Gill was included in the Indian squad for the minor match of their series against New Zealand.
On 31 January 2019, he made his One Day International (ODI) cricket debut against New Zealand in the fourth ODI of the series at Seddon Park, Hamilton. Gill could only score 9 off his 21 balls in the hole and was caught by Trent Boult.

Shubman Gill: Achievements and Records

Shubman was awarded the BCCI’s Best Junior Cricketer twice (U-14 and U-16) in 2013-14 and 2014-15.
He was the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup Player of the Tournament. He has a world record of 587 runs in partnership with Nirmal Singh.
