Shahrukh Khan was born into a Muslim family. Shahrukh Khan’s birthday is November 2, 1965. Shahrukh Khan’s parents are Meer Taj Mohammed Khan and Lateef Fatima Khan. New Delhi is the birthplace of Shahrukh Khan. His grandfather, Iftikhar Ahmed, worked as the chief engineer of Mangalore Port for the first five years of his childhood.

Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, Shahrukh Khan’s father, was an Indian independence activist from Peshawar who worked with the Khudai Khidmatgar, a dissident group of Abdul Ghaffar Khan (also known as Bacha Khan but he was Frontier Gandhi) who fought for unity and independence India.

Representative Abdul Ghaffar Khan Meer is a member of the Indian National Congress. Khan’s paternal family still lives in Shah Wali Qataal area of ​​Qissa Khwani Bazaar in Peshawar as of 2010. After the division of India in 1947, Meer moved to New Delhi. Lateef Fatima, Khan’s mother, was the granddaughter of a great government engineer. In 1959, his parents got married. On Twitter, Khan described himself as half Pathan (father), half Hyderabadi (mother) and part Kashmiri (grandmother).

Shahrukh Khan claims Pashtun (Pathan) descent from Afghanistan and his grandfather, Meer Jan Muhammad Khan. Contrary to the claim that his grandfather is from Afghanistan, his cousins ​​in Peshawar claim that the family speaks Hindko and is from Kashmir. Shahrukh Khan grew up in Rajendra Nagar district of New Delhi.

During 1997-99, he tried for the lead role in several films like “Pardes”, Dil Toh Pagal Hai”, “Duplicate”, “Dil Se”, “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” and “Badshah”. Its work and movies helped the actor to be a symbol of Indian movie.

The first film produced by the studio was “Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani”, starring Juhi Chawla and Shah Rukh Khan. This film, which was released in 2000, was not successful at the box office. In 2002, the period drama “Devdas”, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, was released. The film was well received by the audience and critics. Khan’s performance in the film was also highly praised. During 2003-07, he starred in many films that became blockbusters. These works include ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’, ‘Chalte Chalte’, ‘Veer-Zaara’, ‘Swades’, ‘Main Hoon Na’, ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’, ‘Paheli’, ‘Don’, ‘Chak De ! India’ and ‘Om Shanti Om’.

In 2004, he restarted his production house after parting ways with business partners Juhi Chawla and Aziz Mirza. The new venture, headed by his wife Gauri, is named “Red Chillies Entertainment”. In 2007, he presented the famous game show “Kaun Banega Crorepati”.

He is also the host of few other TV shows like “Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?” and “Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout”. In 2008, she acted in the Aditya Chopra-directed film “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi” and the following year, she made an appearance in the film “Billu”.


In 2008, he bought the franchise of the cricket team representing Kolkata in the “Indian Premier League” (IPL) cricket tournament along with actor Juhi Chawla and her husband Jay Mehta. This team is called “Kolkata Knight Riders”.


His film ‘My Name Is Khan’ which is based on a true story was released in 2010, and this film was a huge hit. The film went on to break box office records overseas and earned a reputation as one of the highest-grossing Indian films in the overseas market.


During 2011-14, he acted in few films like “Ra One”, “Don 2”, “Jab Tak hai Jaan”, “Chennai Express” and “Happy New Year”. He has several film projects in the pipeline and one of his upcoming films is “Fan”, directed by Maneesh Sharma. The film will be shot later.

Shahrukh has won 14 Filmfare Awards for his contribution to Hindi films and eight of them were in the Best Actor category, which is unprecedented. He received the Padma Shri awarded by the Government of India in 2005.
