Sania Mirza is an Indian tennis player born on November 15, 1986. She is an Indian tennis star and one of the two best tennis players in the world. She is the most successful Indian tennis player.

Mirza entered the scene as a teenage tennis player and won several tournaments on the Indian circuit before hitting the big time when she won two women’s titles at Wimbledon.

Mirza won several singles tournaments on the regional circuit and performed well on the Grand Slam circuit, but was unable to make the kind of progress he would have liked.

A wrist injury was also one of the reasons why her career had a lot of problems but after the injury, She started to focus on the doubles and mixed competitions rather than the singles program which led to his victory in the Grand Slam tournament.

Sania Mirza started playing tennis at the age of six. She received lessons from his father, and as a teenager, he won 10 singles titles and 13 doubles titles, including the 2003 Wimbledon Championships and the 2003 Afro-Asian Games.

Sania Mirza won her first WTA doubles title at the 2004 AP Tourism Hyderabad Open, making history as the first Indian woman to win it.

She won the doubles title at the 2013 Dubai Championships at Mattek-Sands. Mirza won five WTA titles in 2013 while working with many players.

She came second at the Porsche Open and won two tournaments at the 2014 Portuguese Open.


She and Black placed second at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in 2014 and won the doubles title at the Portuguese Open that year. The Mutua Madrid Open, the Internazionali BNL d’Italia and the French Open were the next clay court tournaments where the pair made three consecutive quarters, but could not win any of the trophies.


She played in mixed doubles at the 2014 US Open alongside Bruno Soares, with whom he later won the doubles title. She won two medals at the 17th Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea: one gold and one bronze.

She and Prarthana Thombare won the bronze medal in women’s doubles. At the WTA Finals, Black and Mirza won their biggest win together. The couple’s last loss was the worst they had ever experienced.

She has had many wins and losses over the years, reaching a career high in 2015. She made history as the first Indian to hold the No. 1 ranking in WTA doubles.

She went on maternity leave in 2018 and returned in 2020 with dementia.


In January 2020, he won the Hobart International with Nadia Kchenok. Mirza announced his retirement in 2022 due to the corruption scandal.

2015- She was awarded the “Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award” after winning a total of 10 WTA titles and two Grand Slams.
2016- Her name was included in the list of “100 most influential people in the world” by “Time” magazine. He was also awarded India’s third highest civilian honor “Padma Bhushan”.
