Biography of Sambit Patra

Dr. Sambit Patra is the national spokesperson of the Bhartiya Janata Party. He has been in this position since 2011. Note that Pathar is considered as a pillar of BJP but despite this, they could not retain their seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in 2019. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, they registered. from Puri headquarters of Odisha.

Sambit Patra was born on December 13, 1974 in Bokaro Steel City. His father Rabindra Nath Patra worked in Bokaro steelworks. Sambit Patra completed his schooling from Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Bokaro.

In 1997 Sambit Patra completed his MBBS from VSS Medical College and Hospital, Odisha. In 2002, he completed Masters in General Surgery from SCB Medical College, Utkal University. In 2003, Sambit Patra passed Medical Services affiliation from UPSC and joined Hindu Rao Hospital, Delhi as a doctor.

Sambit Patra Career

Sambit Patra is a prominent Indian politician and national spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was born in Dhanbad (Jharkhand) in 1974.

He was a powerful speaker and an intelligent student from the beginning. He graduated from VSS Medical College and Hospital, Burla, Sambalpur and completed his further training from SCB Medical College and completed Master of Surgery (MS) in General Surgery from Utkal University in 2002.

He then prepared for Combined Medical Services UPSC. He started his career as a doctor at Hindu Rao Hospital in Malka Ganj, Delhi.

In 2006, he started ‘Swaraj’, an NGO working to improve the education and health standards of Adivasis and Dalits in Chhatisgarh and Odisha. He was inducted into the Central Committee of the BJP as the Odisha State Representative.

He continued his career and left his job to join politics. Bhartiy Janata Party appointed him as the spokesperson of their Delhi unit in 2010. He contested Kashmere local elections of Bhartiy Janata Party in 2012 but failed.

He worked in the Lok Sabha election campaign for BJP in 2014 and gained fame on national television. When the BJP came to power, he was appointed as the spokesperson of the party.

He is seen in various current debates and has many followers for the way he leads and defends his team and uses his words to attack the opposition. After earning a national reputation as a reliable speaker, he was given the Lok Sabha ticket of Jagannath Puri constituency of Orrisa for the 2019 general elections.

National Spokesperson in 2011

In 2011, the BJP elected the affected matra as its national spokesperson. Since then, he still holds this position. In 2006, Patra, in particular, started a non-governmental organization called Swaraj to improve the health and education of Dalits and Adhiites in Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

He was appointed as the spokesperson of Delhi BJP in 2-2010. He resigned as a health official in 2012 to focus on politics. He contested Delhi’s Kashmir Gate Municipal Corporation as a BJP candidate but lost the election.

In 4-2014 he campaigned for the Lok Sabha elections and became a popular face on national television. After the BJP got a majority in the 2014 elections, the last national spokesperson was elected for the BJP. On 5-2017, he was appointed as the non-commissioned officer of CGSB by the ACC (Appointment Committee of the Cabinet).

He ran for re-election in 6-2019. He contested the Puri Lok Sabha seat in the 2019 general elections, but lost to Pinaki Mishra of the Biju Janata Dal (Bijad).

Sambit Patra controversy

In February 2016, Sambit Patra showed a hand-made image of the Raising Flag on Iwo Jima and claimed it was Indian Army soldiers on the Indian border. However, this image is actually from World War II.

In June 2017, Sambit Patra retweeted a tweet from a Pakistani news site. The news site’s tweet is based on misleading information.

In August 2017, Sambit Patra tweeted a photo of the former Vice President of India in 2015, which sparked controversy and the latter was disrespectful by congratulating the commander leading the movement. However, the correct principle is that only the President of India will salute the commander leading the protest.

During the televised debate, Sambit Patra showed an edited video of former JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar shouting separatism in JNU.

In May 2020, an anonymous newspaper was filed against Sambit Patra for making false statements and defaming the former Prime Minister of India – Jawaharlal Nehru and Rajiv Gandhi.

Facts about Patra

Sambit was an excellent student from his school days, as well as being a powerful speaker.

He did MBBS and then completed MS from Odisha and opened an NGO named Swaraj for the people of Odisha. Dr. Sambit Patra was an Oriya Brahmin from a noble background.
