Who is Ricky Ponting

Ricky Ponting, born Ricky Thomas Ponting, nicknamed Punter, (born 19 December 1974, Launceston, Tasmania, Australia), Australian cricketer and manager served as the country’s first batsman in the 1990s and early 1990s 2000s.

Ponting achieved fame as a cricketer when he scored four centuries (centuries equal to 100 runs in an innings) for under-13s in one cricket week in Tasmania and two more after promoted to the under-16 team. By the age of 20, he had made his Test (international) debut and was hailed by some as the new Don Bradman, considered by many to be the greatest cricketer of the 20th century. first came to Leeds on the 1997 tour of England.
