Biography of Swami Vivekananda

Swami Vivekananda was born on January 12, 1863 in Calcutta. His childhood name is Narendranath, his father Shri Vishwanath Datta is a famous High Court lawyer in Calcutta. His father believed in Western civilization. He wanted his son Narender to teach English and cover Western Civilization. His mother, Smt. Bhuvaneswari Devi, was a religious minded woman. Most of his time was spent worshiping Lord Shiva.

Narendra’s mind was very sharp from his childhood and he longed to find God. For this reason he went to the Brahmo Samaj, but he was not satisfied. He wanted Vedanta and Yoga to be important for its expansion in Western culture. Vishwanath dutt died by the power of God. The weight of the house fell on Narendra.

Swami Vivekanand had dedicated his life to his master Shri Ramakrishna. At the time of his physical sacrifice, Gurudev, despite the terrible situation of his family and his family, he continued to do the work of the Guru, despite his own food. Gurudev’s body became very ill.

Life of Swami Vivekananda

In November 1881 he was invited to sing at a house called Ramkrishna. He had a brief conversation with Ramakrishna, and Ramakrishna invited him a few miles from Calcutta to visit the Dakshineswar temple on the south bank of the Ganges, where he lived.

After meeting Ramakrishna, he discovered Ramakrishna’s personality. Naren then started to visit Dakshineswar temple several times and found himself among the young boys of his age, trained the boys who used to make the life of Ramakrishna Matavi. In 1885 Rama Krishna was diagnosed with cancer and it was clear that he would not live long.

The king had become his best friend and his young disciples had become leaders of his followers. On August 15, 1886, Ramakrishna uttered “Kali” in a clear voice and died.

His disciples saw fit to collect him, and they found a house in Burnore, which they could use as their own monastery, and little by little the men advanced in life. Sadhu. She had a bowl in her hand and was a beginner in the temples of all India, preached in alms by begging and passed in her homes.

It was precious for the king of life as a beggar, and in 1890-1893, he acquired the first knowledge of India. At the end of May 1893, he flew from Bombay to Vancouver to participate in the Parliament of his religion on September 11, 1893.

But it is probably the first time in the history of the world that representatives of all major religions have been brought to a place where they have the freedom to express their beliefs. But Swami ji did not get an invitation to enter parliament, but Harvard University professor JH. Wright assured him that he would be accepted in Parliament.

When Parliament started on the morning of September 11, everyone saw Robbie’s awesome, yellow clothes and beautiful face. In the afternoon, Vivekananda wakes up. In his deep voice, he began his speech, the first line of his speech – “Sisters and Brothers of America” ​​- listened to this first line, thousands of spectators cheered and thank them for two minutes.

And when Vivekanand said “Sisters and Brothers,” they really meant that they thought of American women and men as their sisters and brothers.

Swami Vivekananda continued his speech. The speech was a plea for universal acceptance and an emphasis on the unity of all religions, but when it ended, the praise was too loud.

After the Congress of Religions, Vivekananda spent about two years lecturing in various parts of the eastern and central United States of America. He met great people like Robert, Nicola Tesla, Madame Black. He asked his audience to give up materialism and learn from the ancient spirituality of the Hindus.

He recognized some of the great virtues of Western civilization and felt that the lack of these two was in the hearts of Indians. Vivekananda taught that God was within each of us and each of us was born to redefine our divine nature. In August, he left France and England, and Vedanta preached, Swami Vivekananda returned to New York in December, and at the request of his devotees, he founded the first Vedanta Society in America: the Vedanta Society of New York.

Vivekananda was given money in mid-January 1897. From there he went to Calcutta. On May 1, 1897, he called a meeting of Ramakrishna and Ramakrishna Paramhans to establish his mission in Calcutta. The resolution given by Vivekananda was a combination of education, philanthropy and religion;

and thus the mission of Ramakrishna and Ramakrishna Math began. The ministers acted immediately and began to bring people suffering from diseases such as famine, disease, and in addition to many hospitals and schools. Vivekananda left for a second visit to Western Europe in June 1899.

When he returned to India, Swami Vivekananda suffered from many illnesses and he himself said that he did not expect to live long. Swami Vivekananda died on July 4, 1902 in Meath, Belur.
