Mohammed Siraj was born on March 13, 1994 in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India from a Muslim family. Mohammed Ismail, his older brother, works as a software engineer in the family business.

Mohammed Ghouse and Shabana Begum are his parents. His father works as a local bus driver. His mother was a housekeeper in many different houses

Childhood of Mohammed Siraj

Siraj ud-Daulah was born in Murshidabad in 1733. He was born into the family of the Nawab of Bengal to the Mughal aristocrat Ahmed Khan and his wife Amina Begum, who was a Bengali aristocrat. Siraj ud-Daulah was brought up in the court of the Nawabs and received the training and education required to qualify as the future Nawab of Bengal.

Siraj ud-Daulah was close to his grandfather Alivardi Khan, who looked after him from birth. He even accompanied Alivardi Khan in one of his campaigns against the Maratha army in 1746. In May 1752, Alivardi Khan, then the Nawab of Bengal, announced Siraj ud-Daulah as his successor.

When Alivardi Khan died four years later on April 10, 1756, the 23-year-old Siraj ud-Daulah became the Nawab of Bengal. However, Siraj’s appointment to the Nawabship aroused the jealousy of many, including those close to him.

Carrer of Mohammed Siraj

Siraj made his first-class debut on 15 November 2015 under Karthik Udupa playing for Hyderabad in the 2015-2016 Ranji Trophy.
He made his Twenty20 debut on 2 January 2016 in the 2015–16 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He is the highest wicket taker for Hyderabad with 41 wickets at an average of 18.92 in the season.
Siraj’s impressive performances in the Ranji season of 2015-16 helped him earn a spot in the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad for the 2017 edition of the IPL.

In February 2017, he was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad team for 2017 Indian Premier League for 2.6 crores.

In October 2017, he was named in India’s T20I squad for their series against New Zealand. He made his T20I debut for India against New Zealand on 4 November 2017, taking the wicket of Kane Williamson, finishing with figures of 1 wicket for 53 runs from four.
In January 2018, he was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2018 Auction. In February 2018, he was named in India’s T20I squad for the 2018 Nidahas Trophy.
In September 2018, he was named in the Indian Test squad for their series against the West Indies, but did not appear. In October 2018, he was named in the India A team for the 2018–19 Deodhar Trophy.
In December 2018, he was named in India’s ODI squad for their series against Australia.

He made his ODI debut against Australia at the Adelaide Oval on 15 January 2019.


In October 2019, he was named in the India B squad for the 2019–20 Deodhar Trophy. On October 26, 2020, Siraj was named in the Indian Test squad for their series against Australia.
After some deliberations to choose between Navdeep Saini and Siraj due to Mohammed Shami’s injury, Siraj was selected ahead of Saini, and made his Test debut for India on December 26, 2020, against Australia.

On October 21, 2020, he became the first batsman in IPL history to score two first-class wickets in one match.
In January 2021, in the fourth Test of the series against Australia, Siraj took his first five-wicket haul in Test cricket.

Mohammed Siraj Test Cricket

Mohammed Siraj got his first Test call-up at the end of 2020 for India’s tour of Australia after senior pacer Ishant Sharma was ruled out with an injury.

But, after arriving in Australia in November, tragedy struck home when the right-hand designer lost his father. However, Siraj decided to stay with the team and later made his debut in the Boxing Day Test when Mohammed Shami was ruled out with a broken hand.

Siraj made an immediate impact claiming 5 wickets in two innings as India won the match by eight wickets. His biggest test came in match 3 at the Gabba when he was asked to lead the bowling attack when the quartet of Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja joined the injured list.

But, Siraj rose to the occasion by taking his first five wickets in Australia’s second innings to set up a historic winning streak for the Indian side. Siraj finished with 13 boots in 3 games, and just like that, a star was born.

His impressive feat came on the final day of the Lord’s Test in August 2021 as he struck 4 batters including Jos Buttler and N0.11 James Anderson to seal a 151-run victory for Virat Kohli’s team. lead.
