Who is Krunal Pandya
Krunal Pandya is an Indian professional cricketer who is well known for playing for teams such as Baroda, from 2012, and Mumbai India, from 2016. He started his career with his older brother, Hardik Pandya, who was also a professional cricketer and made his first class.
Made his debut for Baroda on October 6, 2016, in the Ranji Trophy tournament in the 2016–2017 season. Soon after his debut, and at the beginning of 2017, Krunal became the highest player and wicket taker, especially in the Vijay Hazare Trophy competition at the same time.
Start of his cricket career
October 6, 2016 was when Krunal entered the stadium to play competitive cricket for the first time. He played for Baroda in the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy. Krunal made a name for himself within a few months and became the top scorer and wicket taker for Baroda in the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Although the opportunity to share the Indian dressing room with his brother Hardik is still missing, Krunal featured in the India A squad for the 2018-19 Deodhar Trophy. He slowly rose to the heights of success and was named the Baroda captain for the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019-2020.
International Carrer
Krunal made his international debut as part of the Indian T20I squad against West Indies and Australia.
He took a wicket and scored 21 runs in 9 balls in his first match. He won the player of the match award for his bowling against Australia in Game 3.
In March 2021, Krunal was named in India’s ODI squad for their series against England, and on 23 March 2021 he made his ODI debut against England, scoring 58 paces.
IPL
Krunal also had success in the IPL as one of the most successful teams, Mumbai Indians, bought him for Rs. 2 crores in the auction of 2016. He played his first match with Lions from Gujarat to Wankhede. In the same year, the match against Delhi Daredevils brought out the best in Krunal as he was voted Man of the Match for his innings of 86 off 37 balls and the wickets of Quinton De Kock and Zaheer Khan.
