David Miller is a South African professional cricketer who has served his country in limited-overs formats (ODI, T20I) as an outstanding middle-order batsman and defender.
He was one of the South African stars who ran to the semi-finals of the ICC (International Cricket Council) 2015 ICC (International Cricket Council) Cricket World Cup, scoring 324 runs at a strong average of 65 in the run-rate. Stellar strike of 139. David played for Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and was the captain of the franchise.
Miller made his first-class debut in the Dolphins’ second and final game of the National SuperSport Series in 2007-08, batting first and going for a half-century in the opening innings.
Miller was selected as one of the ten marquee players for Canada’s first Global T20 cricket tournament in May 2018. During the draft for the first edition of the competition, he was selected to play for the Winnipeg Hawks on June 3, 2018.
Miller was selected in the Durban Heat squad for the inaugural Mzansi Super League T20 tournament in October 2018. He was selected in the Durban Heat roster for the 2019 Mzansi Super League tournament in September 2019.
He was selected for the KwaZulu-Natal team in April 2021, ahead of the 2021–22 South African cricket season. After a series for South Africa A against Bangladesh A in which he finished runner-up, Miller was called up to the national team in May 2010. Miller made his debut for South Africa in a Twenty20 international match against the West Indies in Antigua on May 20 , 2010. Miller, who was called in to replace the ill Jacques Kallis, hit a six-ball six to top score as South Africa won by one run.
