Biography of Andre Russell
Andre Dwayne Russell is a Jamaican professional cricketer who played for the West Indies and for Jamaica in the West Indian National Cricket as an all-rounder. He is considered as a world famous player who has played more than 300 Twenty20 (T20) matches for various teams around the world.
Russell broke records and scored a century in a record 40 balls in the 2018 Caribbean Premier League and scored a hat-trick in the same match. That made him the second player to score a hat-trick and score a century in the same T20 match.
Personal life
Andre Russell was born in Kingston, Jamaica to a middle-class Christian family. His father, Michael Russell, is a teacher and his mother is Sandra Travis. Among his four siblings, he is the eldest. The celebrity is very close to his family and he posts their cute pictures on Instagram. As a member of a poor and middle-class family, Russell’s mother initially wanted him to focus on cricket instead of completing his studies.
He eventually rose to the top of international cricket by working hard and playing with love. Russell married his girlfriend and longtime partner Jassym Lora who is a model by profession in 2016. In 2020, Rusell duo was blessed with a girl named Aaliyah Russell.

Domestic Carrer
He played for Barnards Green Cricket Club in Worcestershire, England to help them gain promotion from the Worcestershire Cricket League and the Birmingham Cricket League. On 21 September 2013, he became the first batsman in T20 cricket to take 4 consecutive wickets in one match against India A.
International Carrer
In November 2010, against Sri Lanka, Russell made his Test debut and the only Test match of his career. In the 2011 Cricket World Cup, he made his One Day International (ODI) debut against Ireland in Mohali.
Then his score in the ODI series against India. When he came to the crease at 96/7 in his third ODI, he scored 92 not out from 64 deliveries. He was named the player of the match in the 5th ODI against India at Sabina Park in Kingston.
For the 2016 T20 World Cup, he was named “Team of the Tournament” by ICC, Cricinfo and Cricbuzz. For the 2019 Cricket World Cup, he was named in the West Indies squad in April 2019. In the match against Australia, he became the fastest batsman to score 1,000 runs in 767 balls in ODIs. Unfortunately, due to a knee injury,
he was expelled from the rest of the competition, and as a representative, the name of Sunil Ambris. He won his first T20I on July 9, 2021 in the first T20I against Australia. Indian Premier League
Russell was bought by the Delhi Daredevils at the Indian Premier League auction in 2012 for $450,000. In the 2014 IPL auction, he was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders and later in the game he was seen as a key batsman. In 2019, he won the IPL Super Strike award and was named PlayerOf The Tournament. He was named in Cricinfo IPL XI for his performance in IPL 2019.
In the 2021 Indian Premier League in a match against Mumbai Indians on April 13, 2021, he took figures of 5/15 from just two overs. With the bat, he scored 9 runs in 15 deliveries as Kolkata won the match by 10 runs.
Other T20 Leagues
In May 2018, for the first edition of Canada’s Global T20 cricket tournament, he was named as one of the top ten players. Then in the first edition of the Afghanistan Premier League, he was named the player of Nangarhar team in September 2018. The following month, in the 2018-19 Bangladesh Premier League, he was named in the Dhaka Dynamites team. . He was named in the Jamaica Tallawahs squad in July 2020 for the 2020 Caribbean Premier League.
For the 2021 edition of Centenary Cricket, Southern Brave nominated Russell. In April 2022, he was selected by the Manchester Originals for the 2022 season of the century.

Andre Russell is coming on well going forward in the second heat of the T20. Although he had a 22.45 batting average in the first innings,
his batting average went up to 26.05 as he took the target and, more importantly, the strike rate increased to 169.76 from 162.95. With the ball he also performed well, taking 151 wickets in the second innings and 107 in the first.
He was initially brought in by the Delhi Capitals in the IPL before eventually joining KKR, the team he plays for till date. His 49 off 19 balls against KXIP was Russell’s fifth highest total in the IPL. He has four 50s in the tournament,
the highest being the 88 he managed against CSK in 2018. Awarded two man of the match awards in 2019, Russell was the reason his team recorded two wins in three games. He hit a rate of 257.89 in their chase against Punjab and became his highest score for any score of 49 or more in the IPL.
